Well, well, well...

I have achieved to neglect this blog… yet AGAIN! Unfortunately, I've been spending way more time either posting in my Photography/Design blog or on my tumblr.

I did however, create a new blog logo and symbol! Huzzah for finding time to do something graphical!

I will either figure out a way to link my tumblr or make more of an effort to post more in here… until next time however…

Beginning of the End & New Beginnings

It is officially the beginning of the end of my last semester as an undergraduate student at UWEC! I am super excited for this year, 2010, as many exciting things are going to be happening in my life and the lives of those around me. I know many others who will be getting married throughout the year, a few others who are also having children this year, and then of course all my exciting stuff that will be happening as well (including GRADUATION!).

My short term goals would be completing the semester with a little bit of grace, if that's at all possible to do @ 9 months pregnant. Having the baby problem free and healthy is another one that I would like :P Also, concentrating more on my free-lance portrait photography and getting the equipment I need in order to pick that up some more.

Long term goals are to find a grad-school with a graphic design degree, get a scholarship or internship or teaching assistant funding of some sort to help pay my way through that schooling, then possibly (after getting my MFA) teach graphic design at the college level...

Tons of possibilities await me, just organizing and finding them are the key! I shall try to keep regular updates this semester as I'm sure I'll want to vent/share whats going on. Also, on a side-note, Jordan and I are considering a possible move BEFORE the baby is born as we desperately need our own washer/dryer!

Plastic & Life

Today, was an okay day... The week has only started and I feel like I'm ready to crash! But thats the end of the semester for ya. Felt so good to get my Photography final review done and it went really REALLY well! I was happy all my hard work paid off, even if my photography isn't as "conceptual" as my professor wants it be. Here's one of my photos from my "Go Green" project, demonsrating the derastic number of plastic bags that are in the world but in a more artist context.

The Second picture is from my photo manipulation project which wasn't my favorite but this was the best one that I thought worked. I was supposed to take ordinary things that we see around in our environment and change them into something recognizable. Almost like watching clouds and finding shapes, but in this case I took a tree and changed it!


Finished my last graphic design project for my first graphic design class ever, and I'm really happy with it. We had to create four different "stamps" and then place them together in an interesting way. I had fun! Its kind of funny, but of all the photography classes that I've taken, I have never had a professor tell me that I was doing a really great job or that I had real potential. Yet my first semester, taking my first graphic design class, and my professor says I'm doing a great job and that I am where I should be in school. She even made sure that I was a graphic design major, and I'm pretty sure if I wasn't, she would have convinced me to become one...

Well off to do some more shit that I should have been working on for awhile.
